Britain's Got Talent is Back

April 14, 2016 09:09 AM

This Spring, the one and only, Britain's Got Talent, is back and celebrating ten triumphant years of talent.

The dream team of judges - Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams - once again take their places on the panel, in search of the most astonishing and exhilarating talent around. They are joined by the nation's favourite TV duo, Ant & Dec, who will be on hand to encourage, congratulate and commiserate the acts whilst guiding the audience through the auditions.

Together they have scoured the country looking for a winning act who can entertain the nation and capture the hearts and imaginations of the Great British public. And after a stellar series in 2015 - which achieved the highest ratings of any entertainment show last year and won a Broadcast Award - this year viewers will be entertained and amused in equal measure as a host of variety acts take to the stage.

All four judges and Ant & Dec will also have the opportunity to give the act they think has that extra special something an automatic place in the live semi-finals with the use of their special Golden Buzzer. As each judge has their own particular tastes in what makes great entertainment, the Golden Buzzers will be sure to throw up some interesting choices and perhaps disagreements amongst the panel!

With thousands of people applying, viewers can expect to be amazed and astounded by the remarkable line-up of acts competing to be crowned this year's winner, securing an incredible £250,000 and the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance 2016.

Britain's Got Talent S10 premieres April 10 on RTL CBS Entertainment HD.
Sundays as live via satellite 10:30am
Primetime Encores Sundays and Thursdays at 9pm

A Success Story

For the past 10 years, Britain's Got Talent has been showcasing the biggest, the best and the most surprising talent around. To celebrate years of exceptional and life-changing performances, we're looking back at some of Britain's Got Talent's most inspiring success stories.

Paul Potts

Paul Potts was the mobile phone shop manager who shot to global fame after being crowned Britain's Got Talent's first ever winner. Paul's multi-platinum debut album "One Chance" shot straight to the No.1 spot in the UK and topped the charts around the world. Since Britain's Got Talent, Paul has embarked on multiple world tours, has released four studio albums and inspired the hit film "One Chance" about his life, starring James Corden in the lead role.

Collabro

From their very first audition, performing the West End classic "Stars", Collabro won the hearts of the nation, going on to win the series in 2014. Their album "Stars" debuted at No.1 in the Official UK chart, while their second album "Act Two" went straight to No.2. Collabro are about to complete an extensive UK tour and have been performing around the world, including in Japan and the US.

Diversity

Since winning Britain's Got Talent 2009 in front of 18.3m viewers, the Essex and East London boys have been pioneering street dance around the UK. Appearing on other shows, including "Got To Dance" and "Ashley Banjo's Secret Street Crew", they have also found success with spin-off ventures, including fitness DVDs, dance classes and a clothing range. They have performed multiple UK tours, selling out the O2 Arena in London with their arena tour 'Digitized – Trapped in the Game', which was also released on DVD. They recently completed another tour with "Up Close And Personal".

Ashley and Pudsey

As the first animal act to win Britain's Got Talent, Pudsey, along with owner Ashleigh, won over the hearts of the nation in 2012. They have since made numerous TV appearances, including "That Dog Can Dance!", "Top Dog Model", "Who Let The Dogs Out?" and the adaptation of David Walliam's children's book Mr. Stink. Pudsey also starred in his very own movie "Pudsey: The Movie" and published an autobiography. Ashleigh and Pudsey are currently touring the UK with "Mission Impudseyble".

Susan Boyle

When Susan Boyle first walked onto the Britain's Got Talent stage in 2009, no one expected the phenomenal success that was to follow. Susan's first audition surprised both the judges and the audience and, overnight, turned Susan into a global sensation, as her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" became the most-watched YouTube video of the year. Susan's debut album "I Dreamed a Dream" went to No.1 around the world and, at the time, broke the record for the best first week sales of a debut album in the UK. Susan has now released six albums, including three No.1s, has been nominated for two Grammy's and has, to date, sold more than 23 million.

Audition Sneak Peak

Here's a taster of the acts that auditioned this year, to give us a sneak peek of what we can expect from the upcoming series:

Bertie The Tortoise

Bertie is a leopard tortoise and lives in Adventure Valley with his girlfriend Shelly. He earned the title of Fastest Tortoise in the World in 2014 after walking across an 18ft long track in 19.59 seconds, setting a new Guinness World Record. Will the 'Usain Bolt of the tortoise world' be able to beat his own record on the BGT stage?

Elite Squad

Elite Squad are a street dance group from Oxford, who have all been friends from a young age. They are big fans of the Royal Family and performed on stage dressed as Queen's Guards. They surprised the judges with their routine which David Walliams described as "brilliantly imaginative".

Presentation School Choir

The Presentation School Choir from Kilkenny was created by choral director Veronica McCarron in 1995. The choir, made up of girls aged 14-18, wowed the judges with their powerful vocals and unexpected performance which Alesha found 'very refreshing'

The Togni Brothers

Michael (21) and Dario (20) are foot juggling siblings originally from Birmingham. They were raised in Italy in the circus, as their Italian father comes from one of the largest circus families in Europe. Simon admitted he had never seen anything like it before and Amanda said they were extraordinary.

Katy and Paul

Katy (28) and Paul (33) are an aerial gymnastics duo from Liverpool. They've been performing together for 14 years. They received a standing ovation from the judges and the audience prompting David to describe their performance as 'dramatic and thrilling'.
