Love Forecast
First to premiere on August 3, Wednesday, at 6:00 PM, is the Korean blockbuster Love Forecast. In this rom-com, two longtime friends start to hang out more often and get to be more touchy-feely with each other. The guy falls deeply in love, but unfortunately, he is put in that dreaded “friend zone”. When the girl dates other men but comes running back to him, heartbroken, will he finally make her see that he is the right guy for her?
Love Forecast’s lead characters are dubbed in Tagalog by YouTube sensation Donnalyn Bartolome and MTV Pinoy VJ Josh Padilla. It stars Lee Seung-gi (My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho) and Moon Chae-won(The Innocent Man, The Princess’ Man), who had their first team-up in the Koreanovela, Brilliant Legacy.

Exists
Showing on August 7, Sunday, 6:00 PM, is Exists, a hair-raising barkada (squad) movie from the director of The Blair Witch Project, Eduardo Sanchez. Five friends hit the road for a weekend getaway in Texas, but the fun ends when they reach their destination. The cabin that is supposed to serve as their accommodation is totally unlivable. Worse, a large, hairy figure from the woods comes to join them. And just like what they’ve heard about the urban legend, this creature is not letting any of them escape its murderous attack.

Dead Man Down
Dead Man Down, starring Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, and Dominic Cooper premieres on August 13, Saturday, 6:00 PM. In this Hollywood crime drama, Farrell plays Victor, a man who penetrates the crime empire run by Alphonse. Victor’s mission is to avenge the murder of his wife and daughter. He is able to earn Alphonse’s trust, but a mysterious woman (Noomi Rapace) discovers his real intent. She threatens to expose Victor unless he does something for her: kill the man who has done her serious damage. As their revenge plots intermingle, they race against time to save themselves.

The Divine Move
Another revenge movie, The Divine Move, follows on August 14, Sunday, at 8:00 PM. In this Korean film, a professional baduk player (a board game in which the aim is to gain more territory than the opponent) named Tae-seok is framed and imprisoned for the murder of his own brother. After serving his sentence, he breaks into the gambling joint of Sal-soo, his old opponent who framed him up. Tae-seok manages to eliminate Sal-soo’s men, but to take the latter down, one final game must be played, in which even his own life is at stake.

Ninja: Shadow of a Tear
On August 18, Thursday, 8:00 PM, TMC’s Hollywood Hits block presents Ninja: Shadow of a Tear. In this sequel to the 2009 Ninja, Scott Adkins reprises his role as Casey Bowman whose wife is strangled to death with the use of a barbed wire. The distinctive mark it left on her neck is also found in another victim, and he uses this as lead to find the culprit. With some valuable information from a fellow martial artist, Casey hunts down a savage drug lord in the forests of Burma. Though he’s all geared up for combat, nothing prepares him for one shocking revelation.

Snow in Sea Breeze
Snow In Sea Breeze, a Korean love story starring Park Hae-Jin (My Love From The Star) and Lee Young-Ah (Golden Bride), premieres on August 20, Saturday, at 6:00 PM. After a national swimmer saves a girl from falling into a river, they become drawn to each other. The girl who turns out to be seriously ill, works as a perfumer, and the guy’s scent reminds her of her father. Meanwhile, the guy sympathizes with the girl since his own sister died due to illness. As their relationship deepens enough for them to get married, can the couple make every moment count knowing death is not so far behind?

The Taking of Deborah Logan
From the producer of X-Men and Superman Returns comes the terrifying The Taking of Deborah Logan which premieres on August 24, Wednesday, at 10:00 PM. Deborah is an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. In need of financial assistance, she is convinced by her daughter to let a group of documentary filmmakers record her physical and mental degradation. With the cameras catching her every move and every word, Deborah’s actions reveal an extremely violent nature. Soon, the crew is discovering creepy old secrets, and none of them is safe. The film stars veteran actress Jill Larson (Shutter Island, All My Children) and Anne Ramsay (Mad About You, Planet of the Apes, A League of Their Own), directed by Adam Robitel, and produced by Bryan Singer.
